Consider how Mary was shocked by the stunning words of Simeon who spoke of the passion and death of her dear son. Her heart was pierced by a sword – a sword of the ingratitude of mean towards her beloved Son. It was our sins that caused Mary to suffer this sorrowful prophecy which led to Jesus’ death for the remission of sins and our redemption.
Mary’s FIAT began the great trial of Redemption. The Divine Will that Adam and Eve lost would once again be a promised reality through the lives of Jesus and Mary, the new Adam and Eve. Our Father and 7 Hail Mary’s.
Imagine the anguish Mary felt because of the difficult flight into Egypt in order to avoid king Herod who wanted to kill the infant Jesus.
We are on a difficult journey in life. Will we be as strong and resourceful as Mary and Joseph on their journey? Their haven was Egypt and our haven is in Jesus and Mary who lead us into the haven of the Divine Will.
Mary was overwhelmed with grief when she learned that her Son was missing from the family group traveling home. Determined to find Him she began her diligent search.
We do lose Jesus by our sins. Are we determined to find Him? To prevent becoming loss in our human wills Jesus is offering each of us the safety and sanctity of the Divine Will. We also must be determined to be with Jesus.
MARY MEETS JESUS ON THE WAY TO CALVARY TO DIE
Mary’s heart was filled with grief. Mary meets her scourged Son as He carried His cross on the way to Calvary. Bruised, beaten and bleeding and His flesh torn from his adorable body, Mary’s lacerated heart was tortured with pain and deep anguish. Was it our sins that caused this?
Mary, we seek pardon for all the sorrow and pain we caused you and your Redeemer son. Pray for us! Teach and guide us into the Light of the Divine Will as we consecrate our whole being to your Immaculate Heart.
JESUS DIES ON THE CROSS
Drowned in a sea of woe seeing her suffering Son so cruelly nailed to the cross Mary’s desolate heart was transfixed with the utter brutality of His crucifixion. Mother of Sorrows how often have we refused to take up our daily cross permitting our weak, human wills to misguide us in seeking our own pleasures. Help us Queen of the Divine Will to seek always the Kingdom of the Divine Will rather than exist in the insecurity of our human wills.
MARY RECEIVES THE DEAD BODY OF JESUS IN HER ARMS
Ponder the most bitter sorrow inflicted on the soul of Mary as she sees the dead body of her beloved Son all covered with blood and torn flesh. Can we share the deep pain of Mary and console her with our love? Our heavenly Mother loves us and wants us close to her in the Kingdom of the Divine Will.
Consider the desolate heart of Mary as she sees the lifeless body of her crucified Son taken down from the cross and gazing at him for the last time. The works of salvation now complete she sees the large stone rolled over the face of the tomb.
It was because of Mary’s FIAT and the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross that opened the gates of Heaven to us enabling all to seek life in the Divine Will.
